Open & Travel Teams

Overview

Avidity's OPEN program is designed for our most elite club teams.  These athletes will be exposed to the highest level instruction by our qualified coaching staff and the most competitive competition.   The top teams at the 18's, 17's, 16's and 15s age levels will be entered into Open play.

Avidity's second 18s, 17s, and 16s teams will be a considered for our travel program and if so, will attend additional regional tournaments outside of the five NERVA tournaments.   

Open/Travel level teams carry a roster of ​11 athletes per team.  Each team is staffed by a highly qualified head and assistant coach.  Practice time is centered upon position-specific training in addition to team-centered work

Avidity's club tryouts have concluded for the 2021 season.  If you missed out on tryouts and are interested in playing, contact avidityvolleyball@gmail.com

Committment

  • Open/Travel level teams practice twice a week at Danvers Indoor Sports; Sunday evenings and either Tuesday or Thursday evenings.  This comes out to over 60 hours of practice time!
  • 2-3 strength and conditioning classes per week.  2 classes aligned before or after practice times and 1 additional drop in class day.  
  • Participation in the following tournaments (see schedules for exact tournament participation)
    • ​Winterfest 
    • Qualifiers
    • SpikeFest
    • Boston
    • Rhode Island Rumble
    • 5 NERVA dates

Estimated Program Fees

The Open & Travel programs include the following:

  • Avidity Volleyball
  • Avidity Team Mask
  • ​2 team jerseys  and pair of spandex 
  • Avidity T-shirt
  • Avidity Team Gear Package - 2 warm-up shirts, long sleeve shirt, jacket or sweatshirt, pants & backpack.  
  • All tournament and gym fees
  • 2-3 strength and conditioning classes per week
