The safety of our athletes and staff is our number one priority. We will adhere to all Massachusetts safety regulations and recommendations for moderate-risk sports.

Danvers Indoor Sports

To promote the safety and well being of our athletes and coaches, we will follow the protocol outlined in this document:

General Guidelines

  • Each day players attend an Avidity event, players will be required to fill out an online health assessment and travel questionnaire prior to entering the building

  • Athletes, coaches and staff will be required to wear masks at all times with the exception of mask and water breaks.  Players should bring an extra face mask in their bag

  • Athletes will sanitize their hands as they enter the building, will place their belongings in a designated location 6 feet apart from staff or teammates, and will sanitize their hands upon entering the court.  Athletes will remain 6 feet apart when not playing on the court

  • Athletes should enter Danvers Indoor Sports fully dressed for practice, including knee pads and sneakers (when not wet outside).  Athletes should bring a bag no larger than a drawstring knapsack.

  • Players and staff will sanitize their hands, prior to play and before/after all breaks, and prior to leaving the facility.  Athletes should bring their own hand sanitizer.  If they forget, hand sanitizer will be provided.

  • Athletes need to bring a water bottle. They will be able to fill their water bottle at the water fountain at Danvers Indoor Sports, but it’s a fill station only

  • Equipment and volleyballs will be disinfected before and/or after each session

  • Currently, no parents/guardians are allowed inside of Danvers Indoor Sports.  If you need to speak to someone, please email us at  If there is an emergency, please notify the front desk and they will give the message to our staff

Court Play

  • We will follow Massachusetts state guidelines which currently states that no more than 25 players will be allowed on a single playing surface/area/court at any one time

  • Each team will be assigned their own ball cart with balls inside.  These balls will be disinfected following each practice

  • Whenever possible, players will be instructed to be 6 feet from one another on the court prior to the start of play (stacks prior to serve)

  • When sharing court space with another team, teams shall not cross center court and will stay one one side of the net throughout the entirety of the practice

  • Face masks will be required at all times.  Athletes may take as many mask breaks as they need to, 6 feet a part in assigned, designated locations

  • Players will not participate in unnecessary contact including high fives, team huddles, post point celebrations, etc

  • Athletes are expected to stay home if they are exhibiting any of the COVID-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC

  • Athletes MAY NOT attend if they have had any known exposure to COVID-19 within the past 14 days or if they are quarantining due to the Massachusetts travel restrictions

  • We are requesting athletes, coaches and staff who test positive for COVID-19 to  disclose this to Avidity for purposes of cleaning, disinfecting and contact tracing.

  • If Avidity is notified of a positive case of a player who attended a practice or competition, Avidity will notify the local Board of Health in the city or town where the training or competition was located and assist the Board of Health to advise contacts to isolate, test and self-quarantine

State/Federal guidelines may change at any time, and as such, all policies are subject to change.
